I was a chronic alcoholic for over more than 2 decades, I would start each day with a drink and was not usually sober in that entire time. My alcoholism cost me quite a few romantic relationships, friendships and jobs over the years, not to mention pretty much my life on several occasions. Alcoholism was killing my family and the sad thing was I knew it, but seemed to be unwilling to do anything about it. Sure I talked about stopping, however when it came to “putting my money where my lips was”, I couldn’t stop and the reason was My partner and i didn’t want to. Thankfully, In the end I woke up and established the damage my alcoholism was causing and resolved to try and do something about it before it killed me.
